The Universal Royal Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star is committed to making a positive difference in the world through faith, charitable service, lasting friendships, and loving kindness to all mankind. Guided by the timeless principles of Friendship, Truth, and Loving Kindness, we strive to inspire and empower our members to live lives of integrity, compassion, and excellence.
Our mission is to foster meaningful fraternal relationships, preserve the rich traditions and heritage of the Order of the Eastern Star, and provide opportunities for leadership, personal growth, and community engagement. Through acts of charity, education, and service, we seek to uplift our communities, support those in need, and leave a legacy that reflects the values of our Order.
United in purpose and dedicated to our Masonic principles, we endeavor to enrich the lives of our members, honor our history, and ensure the continued growth and success of the Universal Royal Grand Chapter for generations to come.
History
The Universal Royal Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, received its charter in 1968 in Miami, Florida, under the authority of the Most Worshipful Universal Grand Lodge, Ancient York Rite Masons of the United States of North America. The first Universal Royal Grand Matron was Sister Alfredia Williams.
In 1980, the Universal Royal Grand Chapter transitioned to a unified leadership structure under one Universal Head with the Universal Most Ancient Heroines of Jericho. This organizational structure remained in place until 2008, when, during the Universal Session in Rochester, New York, the Order of the Eastern Star was reestablished as a separate body under its own leadership.
